Spiral Bevel Gear

A spiral bevel gear has a taper tooth line with a curved pitch. Similar to the meshing process of straight bevel equipment, its meshing is accompanied by the contact point movement along the tooth surface. The contact area of the tooth surface starts at one end of the tooth and gradually moves to the other. At least two sets of teeth engage simultaneously due to the effect of overlapping tooth surfaces (multiple pairs of teeth enter engagement simultaneously). Therefore, spiral bevel gears can transfer more load and work more smoothly than straight bevel gears of the same size (same module) and zero-degree spiral bevel gears.
